...I just defeated Legendary Typhon with my Soothsayer, Noctus, at level 57, my first character past level 8, with zero deaths throughout the game.
This post isn't made to recieve a bunch of grats, or inflate my ego. It's here to respond to the wellwishes and doubt about my abilities that was expressed when I stated that I would play TQ hardcore and deathless on these boards prior to release.
I realize that my character is exceptionally synergized and likely one of the most powerful combinations that can be chosen. That decision was made by myself prior to release with the info available at GameBanshee. Noctus also was extremely fortunate in his drops, though some of them can be attributed from his dedication to farming before moving on in Act and/or Difficulty.
On a note about difficulty, at least with this class combination, I was fairly disappointed in Titan Quest's difficulty all the way up until Act III of Legendary. Upon entering Act III I soon realized that my character was in jeopardy from even the most common of enemies and had to alter my playstyle somewhat radically to deal with it. Even with this radical change in playstyle & cautious behavior, I still faced extremely dangerous situations on occasion that prompted emergency action (typically save/exit).
While my character was a hardcore one, he was not an ironman or pure-legit one. Ironman would not allow a ranged/caster or save/exits, and pure-legit would not allow any non-self-found item usage. On that note, I only used one item not found by myself, and it was a legit trade made between hardcore players; some may view this as cheating, explotiation or "against the rules of hardcore play". If that be the case, I'll accept your judgement and say that perhaps a replay may be in order. That is already the case, and I'm doing it with a far more challenging (in my mind) character combination, though he will still exhibit strong synergy.
As this is the stories forum & not the spoiler forum, I will refrain from specific details about my adventures & character unless they are requested and appreciated by the community.
