All loot that is yellow and up has a "glitter" effect to help those items get noticed. As for a lock to get the loot names to stay on the screen - this presents a huge gameplay issue. A good point, one im sure the topicstarter overlooked. Anyway, i think pushing that alt button is just a part of the gameplay of the hack and slash genre, just like pushing tab for the map or the endless clicking for killing monsters. It personally doesnt bother me, it gives me more the feeling that im actually doing something.
