I wonder if anyone knows how Titan Quest determines which .m3d file to load (the m3d files correspond to what type of soundcard you have, for example - Aureal3d, EAX, Direct3d, Software, Rad3D)
There is no ingame audio selection, so how the heck does it choose which one to use???
I did a little test and removed all the m3d files except one, and did this one by one to see if the audio system was detecting which one to use automatically.
So far it only seems to use directsound3d. It seems to be hardwired in the titanquest.exe, me thinks this is probably the issue all these people are having with the realtek cards, and the other audio cards besides the monopoly beast (creative labs).
I tried to fool the MSS system into using different sound systems by copying the m3d files and renaming them, seems to work on some and others it don't.
For example, I can't get it to use EAX, but software and rad3d seem to work fine.
