I'm having the same issue, and it looks like the developers decided to take both ideas and ditch them.
WASD movement is a simple process to implement by any competent programmer. It really shouldn't be an issue.
As it is, if you're trying to aim at someone and you happen to miss your click, you start running towards them. Duh, how stupid.
It's also practically impossible to shoot at things on the right side of the screen, while moving to the left. Even if you cannot move and shoot at the same time. It requires way too much mouse movement, and the cursor ends up starring in an onscreen tennis match - being constantly flung from one side to the other.
It's such a great game otherwise, as I play it strikes me with wonder why they would so efficiently handicap it.
Oh well, D3 will probably have it.
