I just did a clean install from the Disc, Applied the 1.01>1.08 and that worked fine, then I'm running the 1.08>1.30 patch and getting the usual "patch has encountered an error dialog. I'm not able to do in-game update as this is a standalone machine so I'm using these downloaded patches. The 1.01>1.30 fails with the same error (again, clean install) this is really frustrating only being able to update to 1.08. What on earth causes these errors with the patches? I've seen numerous threads about the problems and don't see a solution anywhere.
A friend of mine has the expansion pack, should I borrow that from him and install it? I've heard that it updates the game (does it go up to 1.30?) if I borrow it and install it and then uninstall it I might get somewhere?
