Maybe you should take into account that the ancient greek population and the one of today might look a bit different. Just remember that Helena of Sparta (the one that caused the Trojan War) was said to have been blonde.
The ancient greeks are a mixture of Indo-European and native population. Some characteristics of Indo-Europeans is a high number of people with blonde hair and blue eyes. But these characteristics are recessive and might have vanished quite soon. But the heroic greek legends arose in the times or shortly after the Indo-European invasion. So probably quite a number of blondes might have been around at those days.
