From what I can gather, you not only must have the new templates, but they
must be in
...\My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working\Database\Templates, and in ArtManager you must list this directory under "Additional Working Directories" (with the
full path from C:\). Here is where to download the IT templates:

Edit: PROBLEM SOLVED! Make sure you are using . as decimal separator when extracting the DB. German Windows installations default to , , which causes problems because , is used as a separator between fields in dbr files. There shouldn't be a problem with English Windows installations because they default to .
Deletion problems can also be caused by missing Template files, so if you have an English Windows installation you are most likely just missing the Immortal Throne Templates. Link to where to get them is further down.
