Have the developers (sorry. I am too new here) tried to explain the rubber-banding? As far as my limited game development experience goes, it looks like some sort of resources thrashing and I don't think there's a way to solve it 'properly' until you go into the source code.
But removing large objects that straddles between 2 different areas may help. Just a newbie's hunch.
